I have an unofficial visit scheduled and an interview with the coach from the University of Louisville scheduled, and I want to hear what other people think about the school and the baseball program before I go down there so I know what to expect.

not sure what position you play, but imo roger williams is one of the top three pitching coaches in the nation. coach mcdonnell is as quality an individual as my son dealt with throughout the entire recruiting process. he chose a different school based on his area of academic interest and a long time love of another school. had he chosen louisville, he would not have gotten an argument from me.

I too have a very favorable impression of Louisville. Any time a team advances to the College World Series, it is no accident, some very good things are going on there. The recruiting coordinator, Chris Lemonis worked the Cangelosi Baseball Winter Development Camp in January and did an outstanding job. I got a chance to pick his brain about what they were trying to accomplish there and came away with no doubt that they will be a national factor for the foreseeable future.

Just curious who the other two are. I respect the fact that Coach Williams is in your opinion one of the top three pitching coaches in the nation, but since Fritz Hamburg from Army was the assistant coach of the year he is obviously the best pitching coach in the country so that only leaves one more spot in your rankings.

I don't know Coach Williams, and judging exclusively based on what he was able to get the pitchers to do at Louisville last season I would agree it looks like he is doing a truly outstanding job. That being said, there are a lot a very good pitching coaches out there, as well as some not so good ones, and I would really prefer if we could keep away from too much speculation and try to preserve some integrity on here by avoiding rankings based on opinion.

The Head coach of the University of Louisville spole at the recent ABCA Convention in Phily. I was very impressed. They appear to be very interested in speed and play a very agressive steal and hit and run game to put pressure on the defense. I hope you have some good sixty times.

Yeah my 60 time is 6.74 and the visit went well. I was in attendance for the game against Tennessee and I was very impressed with McDonnell's coaching style.
