My brother is in the process of contacting schools. He has been researching them pretty well. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with any of the schools listed below or schools from the same conferences. What is the campus like? Coaches? Community? I know he is serious about finding a great place to get his education and while playing baseball is extremely important, being happy on campus is probably more important to him than the overall past success of the program, though I know he doesn't want to get into a bad situation with baseball either. He is a small town kid with academic and athletic goals. Thanks for the help.

My brother lives in Nevada, we have family all over Utah, I'm in NorCal, others are just schools he is wondering about. Basically he is open to anything right now. As far as D1 goes he is really interested in most Mountain West, WAC and WCC teams as well as smaller D1's in the west. It is a strange mix, but right now it's wide open.

Utah Valley is a commuter school with lots of new facilities. They are an independant program that does play some pretty tough teams. This year their schedule included Arizona, Oregon St and Oklahoma St. They were able to hand one loss each to the two OSU schools.

When your brother visit you in Vallejo, please arrange a meeting at Sonoma State and I will meet you at the SSU batting cages and we can discuss his options and your questions.
We will discuss questions that you can ask the college coach. It will be your brother's tools, desire and attitude vs the specific college coaches promises.
