Looking for any information about the coaching staff and program at Florida Gulf Coast. Possible that my nephew, 2010 pitcher from S. FL area will be playing there next year. Thanks in advance

Beautiful campus. Nice field. Good Program. My best friend played baseball there for 2 years and enjoyed it a lot. He ended up moving down there after college because he liked it so much and is now coaching high school baseball there. I'm not sure how he felt about the coaching staff but I know he loved the complex and his teammates and said that the program has been getting better and better every year. I really enjoyed it everytime I visited.

Thanks for the info. So far all we are hearing is great things about the staff and program.

One of our friends checked a site called boydsworld.com and he said that FGCU in a hypothetical State of Florida Baseball ranking would have finished 4th behind the 3 biggies: UM,UF & FSU.

This info was of particular info to my nephew since UCF & USF are not even close which was a surprise.

Loveumbb, sone plays for one of their conference oponents. FGCU has whooped them the two years we have played them. They have a very good mid major baseball program.

Theorictically, they were the 43rd best team in the NCAA DI last year.

Thank you all for the info. My nephew met with the staff and visited the campus, which he loved. Let's see what happens later in the year

Campus wise, I can not imagine there being a better setting for 18 to 22 yr old kids. The campus and its dorms are like beach front condos. THe batters eye on the baseball field sits yards from the beach.

Baseball team is quickly becoming a mid major powerhouse!

Isn't the campus east of the interstate about 20 miles from the beach? Is it FCGU or FGCCC or both?

My bad on the beach comments, they have a couple of lakes on campus.

It has not been for Florida Gulf Coast Community College for quite few years.

I would be curious to hear the details how his visit went. One of their new assistants, Forrest Martin is a great guy, he will add much to their program. He's worked very closely with the Burkburnett Blacksox and we were very lucky to have him in the program.

He was at Oklahoma State prior to FGCU. GED10 will be touring the campus and facilities during the WWBA Underclassmen event in October, really looking forward to it!!

GunEmDown10 in reply to your question the visit went so well that my nephew committed on the spot. My nephew and Forrest really hit it off from the get go. Needless to say the entire family is extremely happy and looking forward to being able to continue to watch him play ball on a regular basis.
