My son is considering going to Austin College in Sherman, Tx. He is looking at the education side but wants to try and play baseball for them also. Does anybody have any information on the coaches and programs?

My son is a freshman there and also a ballplayer. He's been there 3 weeks now and loves it. Coach Carl Iwasaki is a great coach, a man of character, and very approachable. And as you probably know, their academics are top-notch.

They play in the West division of the SCAC (Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) which has a number of quality D-III baseball programs.

Feel free to PM me if you want further info.

The SCAC West is brutal........in a good way. Very tough conference overall. I would say that the SCAC is in the top three of the best DIII athletic conferences nationwide.

Just my opinion.
