Anyone have any info on Wagner College, Staten Island, NY, beyond what's on the website? Admin folks were at a college fair at son's HS, last week, and peaked his interest, but I have a relative in upstate NY who said that, while Wagner may be a good school, and the campus may be beautiful, its not a safe area to send my son. Anyone have first hand info on the school, the baseball program, or the area?
the area is fine. people i know who go there seem to like it. the baseball is up and down in the middle of the NEC. field is not bad but nothing special.

Thanks for your replies. Son did research the team, roster, coaches, school, etc, but we really didn't know about the area. Primary consideration is the school's business acumen and the strength of their internship program (given the NYC locale). TR, I thought a certain Alvirne pitcher/infielder was one of your players and that you wouldn't send him somewhere that wasn't safe. Thanks for confirming that for me.
I grew up on Staten Island, and have a fair amount of extended family still living there. It is a great place and Wagner Colege is situated in a very beautiful part of the island. My family offers a scholorship in memory of my Grandmother at Wagner College. The scholorship is for Humerous Speech, so if you are a funny baseball player you might want to apply for it!
Get a good pitch to hit!
