They seem pretty interested in me to attend their school, for academics. I was wondering how good the baseball is there. I know its in the Big 12, because I am a diehard Husker fan. Thanks for everything.

They are a very strong, highly competitive D1 program. The roster is, understandably, 95% Texan. In a state like that, the need to recruit outside is minimal.

Last year, they did great. This year, they have struggled some in conference play. But the Big 12 is as tough as they come.

Their HC has a great reputation.

Nice new ballpark.

The school is "preppy" (or whatever term is used these days) for the most part. Lots of frat rats and sororities, if you're into that sort of thing.

Steve Smith, the head coach, was the pitching coach at Mississippi State when my son, Paul Petrulis, was there (at MSU).

He's a first class guy and a great pitching coach. Lots of his staff are guys from MSU.

He had 1st round draft choices at MSU; and, he's had a few 1st rounders at Baylor.

Beautiful stadium.

Big 12, in my opinion, is only 2nd to the SEC in the overall quality of teams year-in-and-year-out.

Can't go wrong.

Huskers will give you a football tradition, though. If that is important to you in the fall.

Coming from Alaska, however, you likely would be happy anywhere.

Good luck with your decision.

Mitch Thompson is recruiting coach. Very good guy!! They go to all the major PG & WWBA tournaments & showcases in Fla & Ga., and Area Code. But mostly Texas kids sign with them.
They usually host the PG Top Prospect Showcase in Waco. This would be the best time for them to see you. They also do a couple camps in the summer & at Christmas.
Beautiful new facility...locker room, weight room, field, etc, are all top drawer!! Lots of student support, mentoring program, mandatory study hall, tutoring, etc.
Competition is fierce...be prepared to impress!
Excellent program, excellent school.
PM me for names of a couple players you can contact to get their perspective.

Equally excellent programs are U of Houston, Raynor Noble, and Tulane, Mark Kingston. Check them out, too!
Good luck!!
