Anyone heard of any coaching changes at Campbell?

I have not, but I will speculate a little. Chip Smith, the long-time Campbell coach, played at Virginia Tech and was the first full time assistant under Chuck Hartman many years ago. When he left VT for Campbell, it was with the full intention to return to Virginia Tech as head coach after Hartman retired, which just happened when the current season ended. Virginia Tech, of course, decided to hire Pete Hughes of Boston College. This may be the source of the speculation you mention, unless, of course, something else has transpired with Chip, who has done an outstanding job at Campbell despite relatively limited resources.
