I feel awful for the players involved. To announce this after the season started (team was informed on the way to their weekend series) is absolute bushleague by the administration. Hopefully each player on that roster gets to keep their year of eligibility.

I read today on another site that Univ of Vermont also is dropping both baseball and softball.

This is truly bad new for all of the players and coaches involved.

But, it should be a learning moment for otehrs to always select a college based on its academic merits and not base a decision on soley on the baseball program.

If there is any wealthy person out there that can help us find a solution for this problem, please contact us. We have already proposed trying to help over a longer period of time but the administration is taking a hard stand on the April deadline. It is going to take a big generous donor who loves college baseball.

BTW, the head coach at UNI is one of the best in the country.

Vermont has not issued any word on that possibility, UNI has.

I really wish Kurt Warner would step up and offer some support.

I agree. Coach Heller is a class act and a good coach.

Sad day for baseball people all over when a college does this. They are in a good baseball conference and have had some success there.

I just don't get it! Hate to hear about this.

It aint over till it's over!

The fight continues and we plan on winning if at all possible. Deadline is Sunday!

The fund raising drive fell well short of the required 1.2 million... about a million short! However, the discussions have changed course. There is a chance!

A special thanks to all those who have sent emails and pledged donations. It all helps!
