I have not been to Rhodes since 2004. At that time, the baseball program and facilities were not very good, to be honest. The field conditions were almost unplayable from lack of water...in April. The games were not competitive.
To his credit, that was the first year of the new coach. From everything I have read and heard, the coach has done a wonderful job of upgrading every aspect of the baseball program. If they can sustain the level of play, they will be in the top echelon of the SCAC and DIII for years to come.
The SCAC is a wonderful group of schools. Each is very high quality academics and the level of baseball competition is certainly with the best levels of DIII.
If I recall correctly, your son is a pitcher. If I could express one concern, it would be that the current team is highly dependent on two pitchers. To date, each has thrown over 50 innings. Expect the two will be well over 100 innings by year end. With that type of innings allocated between two pitchers, there won't be many left for the other 12 or so members of the staff. Might be something to investigate.
