We have heard so many different angles for strengthing arms. Most agree that core workouts, leg workouts and running are principles to be applied. I know that while in college, my oldest sons team all went through extensive long toss programs as well as the pitchers.

I am interested to hear from anyone that would like to weigh in, but if possible from MLB Veteran as to what type of program he went through in the "Bigs" to keep the arm in condition and possibly strengthen. Was a long toss program involved?

I realize that this topic has been covered in many past posts, but it is not often that you get to hear the information from someone that pitched in the Majors.....

Thanks in advance.........

Are you talking about pre season or during season?

I just saw an interesting program Inside the Marlins with a segment on pitcher recovery and preparation between games. Scott Olsen says he tosses everyday except the day before a start. Others said they don't toss as much as others but still contiue running, conditioning and band work. Others take the field everyday during batting practice and toss the ball lightly. I suppose it's individual preference. The amount and when depends on whether you are a starter or a reliever.

Go Everyone!
