Rich Rembielak, current head coach at Kent State, appears to be the front runner. I wouldn't be surprised if he is named the new coach by the end of the month

congrats to Wake, Rem and family - he's a class guy, great recruiter and full of energy

with his northern connections, it will give more Ohio, Pa, Mi, and In, student atheletes exposure to ACC baseball

regarding his staff, will former pro, Mike Birkbeck, his pitching coach who aided much in Rem's success come along to Wake, or land the head coach job at Kent or elsewhere

or will Kent attempt to lure Beals back (home) from Ball State? or - - go right after the other sucessfull (former) assistant, player and alum with national recruiting connections?? hmmm???

Rem, continues the line of success from the "cradle of coaches" -
Miami (Ohio)

is Kent "the stepping stone" into the ACC for baseball coaches?

Rembielak is a great choice for Wake and I think he will do well there. I hope Birkbeck gets to take over at Kent, but his credentials as an outstanding recruiter would serve well in the ACC.

Got the opportunity to see Kent State play in 2003. Very impressed all the way around strong hitting and pitching though fielding didn't seem up to the same level it was decent.

Recruiting is where it's at...wonder if high academic standards at Wake will interfere/ Do they have all 11.7 scholarships?
