Can anyone tell me if my son can or cannot use a -5 bat for middle school baseball?

I am not sure about your area in NC. I believe unlike HS baseball where -3 has to be used in Middle School each conference has its own set of rules. Around here -5 can be used and is used by most kids.

ask the coach!

8th graders should be swinging -3's to get ready for high school. if they can't... they better get in the weight room!

Coach May... I see you over here workin'!

I did ask the coach. He said middle school had to use -3. My son is in the seventh grade and has no trouble with a -3. Just wanted to get another opinion on the rule.
